Hugh Greene's Narrative

This information was obtained through Phil Green. Family researcher Roger Neal gave it to him., which he received from Ruthelle Townsend Collis, which was given to her by Opal Craig.
This narrative was written by Hugh Greene.
For the descendants of Lou Allen Green and Jane Maria Cook. Most of the information that I have received from Uncle Jay not long before he died, and from a record that Aunt Millie Neal gave Ora years ago. Some of the records Aunt Millie had, was the names if Aaron Nally brothers and one sister, along with the names of his children. Some of the records as to deeds and lands were researched from the county clerks office. They are not complete, but I got tired and have rested for a while. In reading the above over I find that I did not say that the information Aunt Millie had was identical with what Uncle Jay gave me. So I know it is right.
I will start with Grandpa Green-on his tombstone his name is spelled Lou Allen, but on the deeds it is spelled Lewallyn. It does not make a great deal of difference how you spell it. Here goes. His ancestors came from S.C. near Spartanburg, S.C. The census places of Jeremiah Green in the 96th district of Greenville County. (This is the census of 1790 first U.S. Census, and in this Census just the name of the head of family was listed so many males over 16 so many under 16, so many females over 16, so many over 16, so many blacks)

There was a baby after Aunt Myra named Alice. She died when she was just a small child.
Great Grandfather Jeremiah Green came from South Carolina and bought a farm in Bartow County, on the old Tennessee road, and stayed there a short time, and sold that farm and bought South of Ryo. Lot no. 80 145 acres. Lot No. 81 20 acres and Lot No.65-160 acres. This land he kept until his death. It was divided in three farms with a little over 100 acres each. It was given to Lou Allen, Tom C., and Leroy (Buck). I have found that he bought part of this in 1848. I guess it all was bought at the same time.
